The plan indicates that color-coated coil iron enterprises will be supported to implement technical transformation around color-coated coil production and variety development, and improve the color-coated coil production and market distribution system. In combination with major national urban and rural infrastructure construction projects, affordable housing projects and key water conservancy projects, on the basis of pilot work on the application of color-coated coils in Jiangsu, Hebei, Yunnan and other places, the use of 400 MPa and 500 MPa color-coated coils will be fully promoted in large and medium-sized cities across the country to promote the upgrading and reduction of color-coated coils. The proportion of color-coated coils of 400 MPa and above should exceed 80%.

The plan also puts forward requirements for the production and application of high-end color-coated coil varieties. Among them, the large-scale production of high-strength and high-toughness automotive color-coated coils and silicon color-coated coil sheets with large import volumes has been achieved, and the domestic market share has reached more than 90%; the self-sufficiency rate of high-end varieties such as marine corrosion-resistant color-coated coils, low-temperature pressure vessel plates, high-speed railway wheels and axle color-coated coils, and high-pressure boiler tubes has reached 80%. Taking automobile plates as an example, the plan proposes to focus on the development of high-strength automobile beam plates of 700 MPa and above, high-strength automobile plates of 780 MPa-1500 MPa, high-strength and ultra-high-strength cord color-coated coils and other products. Currently, Baocai Coating Co., Ltd. has achieved mass production of high-strength automobile plates, and is the most advanced among domestic color-coated coil factories. Color-coated coil Yan Gaona has the most advantages in high-temperature alloy color-coated coils.
